WHO ARE YOU, WHERE ARE YOU FROM, & WHAT DO YOU DO?
I am a volunteer with Cancer Support Services. I’m from Augusta and support cancer fighters. One way is through creating handcrafted bags that create revenue to support men, women, and youth fighting cancer.
DESCRIBE YOUR PROCESS.
Volunteer sewers create the handcrafted bags. They use designer material and a pattern to make the various sizes and designs of these very popular bags. All of the Volunteers are expert sewers, many who have sewn for over 40 years. Each does so with a passion for the cancer fighters served by Cancer Support Services.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
Cancer Support Services inspires me. Cancer fighters are weighed down with unyielding high living costs, unpredictable medical expenses, and debilitating physical health. Cancer Support Services helps save lives with funding for prescriptions, medical supplies, housing, transport, and more.
FUN FACT ABOUT YOU.
I thought I would Volunteer to sew bags, but love being involved with the office, lodging, and events like this.
