Meet The Artist

WHO ARE YOU, WHERE ARE YOU FROM, & WHAT DO YOU DO?
My name is Alison Sanchez, and I’m based out of Hephzibah, GA. I make a little bit of everything, including quilts, small quilted items, and crocheted hats.

DESCRIBE YOUR PROCESS.
I make and design everything myself, from start to finish. I will often start a project with an idea in my head, and use what I have on hand to make it a reality.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
I get a lot of my inspiration from nature, as well as my surroundings. For example, tile patterns in a floor will inspire me to create a similar quilt.

FUN FACT ABOUT YOU.
I also enjoy writing fiction, and have published a short story on Amazon kindle, with plans to publish more!

FAVORITE THING ABOUT DOWNTOWN AUGUSTA.
I absolutely love Arts in the Heart!

WHY DO YOU LOVE TO DESIGN, CREATE + MAKE?
Creating things is almost like a therapy to me – it’s a way for me to clear my mind. Also I love seeing the way something comes together from an idea to the finished project. I’m always proud of my work

WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD SHARE WITH OTHER ARTISTS + MAKERS?
Don’t undervalue your own work. It’s easy to look at something you’ve made and put a low price tag on it because you’re worried it’s not worth more. Price your work accordingly! Your time and skill has value.
