Meet The MAKER
WHO ARE YOU, WHERE ARE YOU FROM, & WHAT DO YOU DO?
I’m Ashley Iannetta from North Augusta, SC. Wife, Mama of 2 beautiful girls & 2 fur babies. On top of being a lifelong crafter, I’ve been a photographer for the past 15 years and in 2020 started up Ai Designs which allowed me to use & enjoy both passions full time making & sharing fun earrings designs.
DESCRIBE YOUR PROCESS.
I use a lot of different types of materials to make my earrings so it depends on what I’m wanting to work with. Some weeks I’ll use clay. I’ll draw out designs, figure out a color scheme and/or textures I’d like to work with. When I’m feeling like a switch up, I’ll either come up with some bead designs and bead for a month or two or maybe make some earrings with real flowers. I enjoy being able to let my creativity flow.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
My loved ones and the feeling I get from being able to create things that make people and the world feel more beautiful.
FUN FACT ABOUT YOU.
I’ve been collecting pressed pennies since I was 12.
FAVORITE THING ABOUT DOWNTOWN AUGUSTA.
My favorite thing about Downtown Augusta is how it has never stopped continuing to grow over the years and has become such a special place for art and culture.
WHY DO YOU LOVE TO DESIGN, CREATE + MAKE?
It’s kind of meditation for me. It brings me peace, while also getting to create things that help people feel more beautiful.
WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD SHARE WITH OTHER ARTISTS + MAKERS?
Something that has helped me is learning that sometimes failing is just practice in disguise. If you’re failing you’re trying. Keep going, keep creating & love your craft.
