WHO ARE YOU, WHERE ARE YOU FROM, & WHAT DO YOU DO?
My name is Talita, I’m a local artist here in the CSRA.
Every kind of craft and art is interesting and fun to explore! Right now I’m specializing in yarn craft and crochet.
DESCRIBE YOUR PROCESS.
Typically I choose to make items that are fun, or weird and funky, with an emphasis on fantasy genre.
Sometimes I use patterns, and sometimes I make my own.
I like to watch movies or listen to audio books while I work.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
Most of my inspiration starts with, a question, “Wouldn’t it be cool if this thing existed?”
And then it bugs me nonstop until I make it reality.

FAVORITE THING ABOUT DOWNTOWN AUGUSTA.
There is a great music and arts scene here. The record store puts on incredible concerts all the time.
WHY DO YOU LOVE TO DESIGN, CREATE + MAKE?
If I don’t design, create, and make things I literally start going insane.
WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD SHARE WITH OTHER ARTISTS + MAKERS?
Treat other artists and makers as peers, not competition.
Encouragement builds, and meanness kills young artists’ confidence.
Everything you make is completely unique, even within the same mediums.
The more that is spread around, the more the appreciation for crafted goods grows in your community. Your hands can only make so many things, and so can theirs. So build each other up and help grow the arts together with kindness. Make the world more beautiful and help others on that path.
