Our Fall Event is on Nov 1st 5-9pm + Nov 2nd from 12-4pm.
WHO ARE YOU, WHERE ARE YOU FROM, & WHAT DO YOU DO?
Originally born in New York City but a Georgia resident for over 20 years. I am an educator by trade but making pottery is my stress release and good for my soul! I have a wonderful family that includes the most supportive husband ever!
DESCRIBE YOUR PROCESS.
My pottery is all handmade, mostly wheel thrown, using mid range stoneware clay. I am thankful to have a studio in my basement so I can get up early and check the temperature of the kiln or pop down for a few minutes if I just need to trim pots.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
What a fabulous thing to have to be able to create something from the earth! When people purchase my pottery, I believe a piece of me goes with them in the vessel, enjoying meals with families, hopefully joyous, social experiences to eat and drink and be merry!
FUN FACT ABOUT YOU.
I don’t have any tattoos but I’m pretty sure I want one. I’m totally jealous of people who have them, I just can’t commit!
FAVORITE THING ABOUT DOWNTOWN AUGUSTA.
I love downtown Augusta! I used to live in an apartment downtown and loved being able to walk to restaurants and shopping venues. I love the wonderful eateries in the vibe downtown creates particularly when the arts are showcased.
WHY DO YOU LOVE TO DESIGN, CREATE + MAKE?
Making pottery centers my soul and gives me an opportunity to be present with myself.
WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD SHARE WITH OTHER ARTISTS + MAKERS?
Do what you love!
