Meet The Maker

WHO ARE YOU, WHERE ARE YOU FROM, & WHAT DO YOU DO?
Hello, I’m Sharon and I am an Augusta Native. I am the owner and creator of a home-based business, Kamari Candle Company. Augusta’s go-to for handcrafted soy candles, wax melts, sprays, and diffusers.

DESCRIBE YOUR PROCESS.
All of our candles are hand poured in small batches right here in Augusta. We use braided cotton wicks and 100% natural soy wax made from American – grown soybeans that produce luxuriously smooth, creamy candles and wax melts. We slowly incorporate premium fragrance oils into the wax to ensure proper binding before pouring each candle or wax melt.

Ever wondered why our candles are so special? It’s all in the details! Did you know that each candle undergoes a meticulous 2-week curing process before it reaches our shelves?

Patience truly is a virtue, and we believe in delivering only the best to our customers. From hand-pouring to the final product, every step is taken with care, love, and dedication.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
I have a passion for creating beautiful home fragrance products that transport people to serene settings with just a whiff!  The dedication to crafting candles and wax melts that evoke memories of cozy cottages or rustic cabins is truly inspiring.

By infusing our products with captivating scents, we are not just selling candles – we are offering an experience. Our vision of bringing the essence of a beachside cottage or a woodland cabin into customers’ homes is both imaginative and heartwarming.

With each candle lit or wax melt warmed, we invite customers on a sensory journey, allowing them to escape the everyday hustle and bustle. Our commitment to creating products that evoke such emotions is sure to resonate with those seeking moments of tranquility and nostalgia in their daily lives.

FUN FACT ABOUT YOU.
I love putting Book Nooks together. I have completed 4 and I’m working on number 5. The tiny pieces of each one take awhile to put together, but the challenge is rewarding when all done!

FAVORITE THING ABOUT DOWNTOWN AUGUSTA.
Spending time on the RiverWalk. Absolutely beautiful on a cool, spring day.

WHY DO YOU LOVE TO DESIGN, CREATE + MAKE?
I learned from an early age to create things on my own. My father, who was in the military for 25 years, created some of the most beautiful furniture before I was born. He always working on something around the house to enrich our lives, so I think I got my love for creating and making things from him. Designing, Creating and Making unique art and products is my Happy Place!

WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD SHARE WITH OTHER ARTISTS + MAKERS?
It’s an old cliche, but do or create something that you love. Something you love to wear…you love to use…something that you think is beautiful… the thing that is beautiful to you. More than likely there are others that feel the same way, you just have to find those people. If you start there then no matter what happens, you are doing something that truly makes you happy.
