Meet The maker

WHO ARE YOU, WHERE ARE YOU FROM, & WHAT DO YOU DO?
Hi! I’m Jenny, originally from South Korea and now living in Augusta. I’m the owner and baker behind Rustic Crumbs, a cottage bakery specializing in organic sourdough. I started baking for my family, seeking healthier and more natural ingredients and eventually fell deeply in love with sourdough.

DESCRIBE YOUR PROCESS.
I bake in small batches with organic, simple ingredients and a slow-fermentation method. Every loaf takes time, patience, and hands-on care from feeding the starter to shaping, scoring, and baking. My process is slow, intentional, and driven by flavor and health, not shortcuts.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
I’m inspired by nature, craftsmanship, and the joy of sharing food with people I love. Good design, textures, and handmade artistry always inspire me whether in bread, architecture, or everyday objects.

FUN FACT ABOUT YOU.
I actually never cared about baking at first. I loved cooking, but bread wasn’t on my radar at all… until sourdough stole my heart. Now I wake up excited to feed my starter like it’s another family member. 😄

FAVORITE THING ABOUT DOWNTOWN AUGUSTA.
I love the quiet charm, historic architecture, and the cozy local restaurants you can discover on foot. Augusta has a warmth that grows on you the more you explore.

WHY DO YOU LOVE TO DESIGN, CREATE + MAKE?
Creating makes me feel alive. Working with my hands shaping dough, crafting flavors, or designing anything gives me joy, purpose, and endless curiosity. I love seeing imagination turn into something you can touch, taste, and share.

WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD SHARE WITH OTHER ARTISTS + MAKERS?
Stay curious, stay humble, and enjoy the process. Progress is slow, but handmade work always tells a story and people can feel that.
