WHO ARE YOU, WHERE ARE YOU FROM, & WHAT DO YOU DO?
My name is Valerie Tereska. I was born on a military base in Kentucky, moved around a bit till I now have my forever home in Grovetown,GA. I am a Full-Time Barber and Part Time Creator!
DESCRIBE YOUR PROCESS.
Truly and honestly chaos! I don’t have in mind what I am going to put on a board most times. I paint or pour the back ground and then I let it speak to me and I go from there.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
I draw from tattoo culture most times and sometimes just a bit of whimsy pulls me in an other direction. Everything around me. I see colors and movement in people and nature. I personally am always in black but there are so many colors in my head.
FUN FACT ABOUT YOU.
I am a motorcycle riding momma of three crazy kiddos. Making my life forever exciting and erratic.
FAVORITE THING ABOUT DOWNTOWN AUGUSTA.
Downtown Augusta is home to me even though I don’t reside near by, the culture and growth of my peers down here inspires me.
WHY DO YOU LOVE TO DESIGN, CREATE + MAKE?
I create to honestly to hold onto that inner child that I never want to loose! The astonishment of a finished price that may not be perfect but deserves to be on the fidge in my mind.
WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD SHARE WITH OTHER ARTISTS + MAKERS?
No one can truly know the process you go though while making. That inner turmoil or glee is what makes your art. Don’t let anyone discredit you.
