Meet the Maker:

WHO ARE YOU, WHERE ARE YOU FROM, & WHAT DO YOU DO?
My name is Sarah Jacobs. My father was in the military so I'm not really "from" anywhere. I consider Augusta my home now. I am a Medical Information Systems Analyst.

DESCRIBE YOUR PROCESS.
I search high and low for antique and vintage items that I can use to make new jewelry from. I usually repurpose broken jewelry and textiles but I have been known to find uses for toy teacups and fishing lures. I just grab whatever speaks to me whether I know what I'm going to use it for or not.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
Nature, books, music, and old movies.

FUN FACT ABOUT YOU.
I love the mountains.

FAVORITE THING ABOUT DOWNTOWN AUGUSTA.
The restaurants.

WHY DO YOU LOVE TO DESIGN, CREATE + MAKE?
My favorite thing to make is earrings...endless possibilities!

WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD SHARE WITH OTHER ARTISTS + MAKERS?
Don't rush it. Let the materials speak to you and you'll make something beautiful.

 COVID-19 Update

The Spring Handmade Fair will be postponed. A new date has not been set yet because things are changing everyday, but it will be rescheduled as soon as possible. We will be promoting the vendors and encourage you to support their small businesses during this difficult season. We can't wait to see you all as soon as we are able. We are praying for health and safety for everyone and their families.
