Meet the Maker:

WHO ARE YOU, WHERE ARE YOU FROM, & WHAT DO YOU DO?
My name is Caleb and I am from Spartanburg, SC. By day I am an industrial scissors salesman and by night I brew all natural handmade grooming products.

DESCRIBE YOUR PROCESS.
It all starts with idea. I know what I want to make and an idea of how to achieve it. I create a recipe in my head and start brewing materials and adjusting the recipe until I have something that I would enjoy using. After like 10 different trials and I am satisfied, I will make a small batch and send to people to test for me. If all goes well, I scale up and start making batches to sell. The cool thing about making handmade small batch brews is even though I create and follow a recipe, every batch can vary slightly, creating a unique product every time. I embrace and enjoy the small inconsistencies in life.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
The inspiration behind the brew is definitely my father. We lost him to suicide in 2014. Me and my brother were looking for a way to honor his legacy, bring awareness, and share stories. We found that a good vehicle for this was through premium, all-natural grooming products that help inspire confidence and just make you feel good wearing them. I have found there is a shame, or stigma involved with suicide. We want to help break that and show people that it is okay to share your story. This is our story.

FUN FACT ABOUT YOU.
We started this business the same month our first child was born. I still haven't decided if that was a good idea or not. I don't think I would recommend it HAHA.

FAVORITE THING ABOUT DOWNTOWN AUGUSTA.
Downtown Augusta was one of the first places me and my wife went on a date. She lived in North Augusta and I drove down for a visit and we went to Pizza Joint. I will always think of that when I am in downtown Augusta.

WHY DO YOU LOVE TO DESIGN, CREATE + MAKE?
I feel like the need to design, create and make is a part of who God created me to be. I have always created whether through drawing as kid, writing and playing music in bands through high school and into adulthood, photography, Choppy Seas, etc. Even in my day job, I get to create content. There is just something about making something from nothing, mixing things together, and being proud of the outcome. If others enjoy my creations, it is even more fulfilling. I can't really explain the feeling when someone loves something I have created. There's an adrenaline rush of sorts to it I guess.

WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD SHARE WITH OTHER ARTISTS + MAKERS?
Don't settle. If you have made something that is good or gets the job done, don't settle. Keep working on it until it is great. Also, always learn. Never stop researching and learning. It will only make you better. Stay humble. Sorry, I guess that was three pieces of advice.
