WHY DO YOU LOVE TO DESIGN, CREATE + MAKE?It brings me joy to create something that brings a person joy. That makes it all worth it. WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD SHARE WITH OTHER ARTISTS + MAKERS?Don’t ever stop creating. There will be ups and downs but don’t ever stop doing what sets your soul on fire. I have always loved baking, but it wasn’t until after the birth of my third baby that truly fell head over heels for it and obtained my cottage bakery license. I currently specialize in decorated sugar cookies and love making special life events that much sweeter. When I am not baking, I am a stay-at-home mom to three, ages 1-6 years old. DESCRIBE YOUR PROCESS.From first inquiry, I work closely with you to create the cookies of your dreams! Once we have the colors and designs picked out, I bake, decorate, and package each cookie with love. There is a lot of time spent perfecting those little details from planning the cookie designs to creating a color palette to baking and mixing colors to decorating to packaging that all creates a custom experience for you and your special event. WHAT INSPIRES YOU?I love the creative outlet baking allows for me. It is an honor to be able to participate in some of life’s biggest celebrations through my custom cookie orders. Whether it is a baby shower, birthday, or cookies just because, bringing my customers’ visions to life in cookie form is very meaningful to me! FUN FACT ABOUT YOU.My husband and I are both from PA, but moved to GA from IA. Before having kids, I was a special education elementary school teacher. For about 5 years after having my first, I taught childbirth education before turning to baking. Teachers will always hold a special place in my heart. FAVORITE THING ABOUT DOWNTOWN AUGUSTA.I love all the local businesses and restaurants that are popping up downtown. WHY DO YOU LOVE TO DESIGN, CREATE + MAKE?It all started as a stress relief and creative outlet for me. Baking and decorating still is. When life gets crazy, it is my quiet escape where I get to pour myself into the creative process and the uniqueness of each order. My absolute favorite though are the happy customers. It brings me so much joy to hear how the cookies made their event that much more special and how much they enjoyed the cookies. WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD SHARE WITH OTHER ARTISTS + MAKERS?It’s definitely a journey! One to be enjoyed, and one where we can learn from the low points while celebrating the high points.
