I am also an Air Force veteran, wife, mother of 3, and audiobook fanatic. I enjoy designing cakes and cookies part time while being a full time stay at home mother. DESCRIBE YOUR PROCESS.I love cakes but cookies are my passion. Each “detailed” cookie set (2dozen or more) takes about 4-5 hours to complete. I often times stream YouTube or true crime podcasts in the background while recording each cookie. WHAT INSPIRES YOU?My inspiration mostly comes from high end fashion or interior decor (believe it or not) but can be found in every day life. I often find myself stopping in Target and thinking “that would be an awesome cookie”. Oh, I’m low key obsessed with Johanna Gaines. She inspires me tremendously. FUN FACT ABOUT YOU.I don’t like cake or cheesecake, but if I eat it, it must be good. I’m obsessed with cookies!! I’ve literally tried every chocolate chip cookie in town. WHY DO YOU LOVE TO DESIGN, CREATE + MAKE?I love to design cakes and cookies because it’s a great way to express myself creatively. It’s also a plus when people enjoy the taste just as much as the art. Being a part of my customers’ celebrations really touches my heart. There’s nothing like having returning customers that you’ve been there for from their wedding, to their baby shower and even their little one’s first birthday. It’s amazing. Your skills grow as they grow with their family. It’s a happy business! WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD SHARE WITH OTHER ARTISTS + MAKERS?I would share to ALWAYS be 100% genuine to yourself. Have values and a strong “why” to why you do what you do. Artists should never have to starve. With that being said, take on two types of orders, orders that may not necessarily be your style but they bring in income and serve your target clients AND orders that scream your name and brand while fulfilling your passion. It’s a great balance that has worked amazingly for me. In all that you do, be sure to Love, Live, and Celebrate Life! Live with no regrets and celebrate even the smallest of accomplishments.
