THROUGH TELESCOPE EYES

THROUGH TELESCOPE EYES handmade jewelry and trinkets @throughtelescopeeyes Etsy Shop Meet The maker WHO ARE YOU, WHERE ARE YOU FROM, & WHAT DO YOU DO?My name is Kaitlin Crawford. I’m from Grovetown, GA. I hand make polymer clay jewelry and trinkets with a wide variety of designs and styles. DESCRIBE YOUR PROCESS.With polymer clay, you first have to condition the clay and mix colors to find the one you want. Most designs start with a cutter to ensure some consistency, but then I add my own touch using hand sculpting techniques. After it’s ready, it has to bake. Some items require layering and multiple bakes and other need a finish of resin. Then they get the edges cleaned, holes drilled, and hypoallergenic finishes attached. WHAT INSPIRES YOU?I take inspiration from everything! I am a big fan of dopamine dressing and creating jewelry I always dreamed of owning. I look at current pop culture trends and looks from my childhood. I also take from nature and books. FUN FACT ABOUT YOU.I started learning polymer clay so I could make my best friend a custom pair of earrings for her wedding in 2022. FAVORITE THING ABOUT DOWNTOWN AUGUSTA.I love supporting local and seeing downtown grow. Nacho Mama’s is my favorite eating spot before exploring and finishing up with a slice of cake from Boll Weevil. I also loved all the old trees and hope to see new ones. WHY DO YOU LOVE TO DESIGN, CREATE + MAKE?My goal from the start was always to bring joy and a smile to peoples faces. This work has been far more rewarding and healing than I could have ever imagined. I am truly overwhelmed when someone resonates with my work and wears it to present their most authentic self to the world. WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD SHARE WITH OTHER ARTISTS + MAKERS?Don’t stress to much. Especially at the beginning. Just make what you want to see in the world and you will find your people. Also talk to as many people as you can and build a community.   I am always open to suggestions and commissions. I’ve gotten some of my best ideas from chats at markets! But more importantly, markets have also brought me some great friendships, so stop by and say hi! RETURN TO VENDOR PAGE

MONA DOES CONCRETE

MONA DOES CONCRETE concrete coasters, salt cellars, cheeseboards, planters, vases and jewelry @monadoesconcrete etsy.com/monadoesconcrete Meet The MAKER WHO ARE YOU, WHERE ARE YOU FROM, & WHAT DO YOU DO? I’m a maker with concrete hands and a whimsical heart. I handcraft pots, coasters, and jewelry from concrete—infusing each piece with textures and inspirations drawn from nature, daydreams, and the beautifully unexpected. Originally from Martinez, GA I find magic in mixing rugged materials with delicate details, creating pieces that feel grounded yet full of wonder. My work is a little earthy, a little dreamy, and always made with love. DESCRIBE YOUR PROCESS. My process begins with intention and a little bit of magic. I start by mixing raw concrete—an unassuming, industrial material—with pigments, botanicals, or bits of shimmer that speak to the piece I want to create. Whether I’m casting a small pot, a statement earring, or a minimalist coaster, I pour with purpose and an eye for texture and balance. Once poured, each piece is left to cure slowly—this part reminds me to be patient, to trust the transformation. After curing, I sand and polish by hand, revealing subtle patterns, marbling, or air pockets that make each creation perfectly imperfect. No two pieces are ever the same. That’s the beauty of handmade. Every item holds the imprint of my hands, the rhythm of my day, and a little piece of nature’s whimsy. WHAT INSPIRES YOU? I’m endlessly inspired by nature’s quiet beauty—mossy rocks, riverbeds, wildflowers growing through cracks in the sidewalk. There’s something magical about the contrast between strength and softness, and I love translating that into my work with concrete. FUN FACT ABOUT YOU. When I’m not casting concrete, I’m chasing adrenaline and collecting unforgettable moments. I once went bungee jumping over the Nile River and have gone skydiving. FAVORITE THING ABOUT DOWNTOWN AUGUSTA. What I love most about Downtown Augusta is how it’s constantly evolving. Even though I live in Atlanta now, every time I come back, there’s something new to discover—a fresh mural, a new café, or a creative pop-up that makes the city feel alive. It’s this perfect mix of familiar roots and fresh energy, and I love seeing how the community continues to grow while still holding onto its charm. WHY DO YOU LOVE TO DESIGN, CREATE + MAKE? Creating is my way of connecting—with the world, with others, and with myself. WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD SHARE WITH OTHER ARTISTS + MAKERS? Do what you love, and let that love guide your hands. Don’t worry about trends or perfection—create what lights you up. Your passion and authenticity will always shine through in your work, and that’s what people connect with most. Stay curious, stay inspired, and trust that your creative voice is more than enough. I am a NY native who has spent the last 6yrs living in Savannah, GA. I am a jewelry artist who works exclusively in copper. DESCRIBE YOUR PROCESS. The copper I use in my work is from historic Savannah homes. Each piece of jewelry is prepped to make its way into an acid bath with applied electricity for 12-48hrs while the copper slowly deposits. Think bronzing baby shoes! WHAT INSPIRES YOU? The ocean is and has always been my happy place. The beach is really my muse but nature and the beauty of travel and life inspire me and my process. FUN FACT ABOUT YOU. I am the lead singer of a local cover band Victory Drive FAVORITE THING ABOUT DOWNTOWN AUGUSTA. I hear the food scene is great so I am looking forward to that! WHY DO YOU LOVE TO DESIGN, CREATE + MAKE? I love to make wearable pieces of nostalgia. Art should make you feel something. A lot of my work is tied to places I have traveled, or places friends have visited and brought back pieces of their adventure for me. I love the look on someone’s face when they are drawn to a piece of my work, and it triggers a memory of that time or place in their life where they have a connection WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD SHARE WITH OTHER ARTISTS + MAKERS? BE YOURSELF!!!! Art is an expression of the world as you see it. I remember starting out looking for my identity in jewelry.  It is easy to try to bend to what others want rather than using it to express what you feel. I think there is room for both, but in order to find your voice you need to be true to yourself. RETURN TO VENDOR PAGE
