STITCHED WITH LOVE

STITCHED WITH LOVE HAND SEWN BABY CLOTHING, ACCESSORIES, + TOYS @stitchedwithlove… Meet The MAKER WHO ARE YOU, WHERE ARE YOU FROM, & WHAT DO YOU DO? Hey yall, I’m Meg. Im a small town girl from deep east Texas. My husband is in the military, so we are always on the move. We lived in Grovetown previously, went to VA for 3 years, and now we are back in Aiken County. Regardless of where the military takes us, the CSRA will always have a special place in our hearts. I’m a stay at home mom to two wonderful girly girls. DESCRIBE YOUR PROCESS. I custom order most of my fabrics, to ensure the best quality and color pigments. Once it comes in the mail, I lay it out under the projector to cut my patterns. Then piece it all together under my machines. When I’m at my machine, it’s my time to really be alone with the Lord. Every garment has been prayed over and sewn with lots of love! WHAT INSPIRES YOU? Seeing the faces of the children light up! I started sewing at a very young age, but took it up again when my daughter was about a year old. Her belly was too big for any clothes to fit appropriately. It was also the style at the time for infants to wear crop tops and belly shirts. You can imagine how hard I struggled to find modest clothing with a big belly baby. That’s when I pulled the machine out and taught myself how to sew on stretchy material. After many trial and errors, I had my first outfit! Now 3.5 years later, I sew clothing on a regular basis. Seeing my daughter light up as she twirls in the dresses makes my heart smile. I can ensure all the clothing is modest, fun colors/designs that my girls will wear, and also bring that excitement to other young children! FUN FACT ABOUT YOU. I love all things medicine. I went to pharmacy school and worked in chemo before Covid hit. The research and development process has always intrigued me. If you have any medicine related questions, I’d love to chat! FAVORITE THING ABOUT DOWNTOWN AUGUSTA. The coffee! There’s a variety of coffee shops downtown and a few surrounding. I could spend all day in a coffee shop with a good book and a Bible study. WHY DO YOU LOVE TO DESIGN, CREATE + MAKE? The creative freedom that comes along with designing the garment is part of why I enjoy sewing so much. I used to go into a store and say, “This would be perfect if it was pink” or “These flower designs are beautiful, but the length isn’t what I’m looking for.” That’s no longer an issue. I can order the exact design and create the item we love! WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD SHARE WITH OTHER ARTISTS + MAKERS? Ask questions! Some people may get irritated by it, but it’s so essential to learning. By asking those who have gone before you, you’re able to gain knowledge and understanding. Find your mentors and don’t throw in the towel! The best way to contact me is by messaging me on my Facebook business page. @StitchedWithLoveByMegTurner. I also have a VIP page (that I need to be more active in) @StitchedWithLoveByMegTurnerVIP find my page for sneak peaks of what will be at the fair! RETURN TO VENDOR PAGE

SAKURA MOCHI CO.

SAKURA MOCHI CO. ANIME INSPIRED STATIONARY + GIFTS @sakura.mochi.co etsy.com Meet The MAKER WHO ARE YOU, WHERE ARE YOU FROM, & WHAT DO YOU DO? Hi! My name is Sarah and I’m the artist behind Sakura Mochi Co. I’m from North Augusta and have lived here my whole life except for a few years when I lived in Charleston for college. I currently work from home as a front end web developer and love to create when I’m not working. My main creative outlet is digital art, but I love to make jewelry, and work with traditional art forms such as posca and alcohol markers. DESCRIBE YOUR PROCESS. Honestly, I just draw anything that I like! I’m also always working on a few drawings at a time so when I get stuck with one, I can work on another. My drawing process is kind of messy since I don’t always finish my sketch layer before going in with my line art and color, but it always comes together in the end! WHAT INSPIRES YOU? Anything and everything Japanese pop culture, traditional culture, and cute! I love to scroll thru Pinterest for inspiration or draw inspiration from anime I’ve watched and manga I’ve read. I also follow a lot of artists on social media and seeing their art inspires me as well! FUN FACT ABOUT YOU. I caught up with One Piece in 4 months! (ifkyk) FAVORITE THING ABOUT DOWNTOWN AUGUSTA. I love the Saturday Market! I started selling my art there about a year ago and have met so many great people since then. The market is such a wonderful place to grab some food and support local artists! WHY DO YOU LOVE TO DESIGN, CREATE + MAKE? I’ve always loved to draw! I grew up drawing and would like to believe I was one of the first people to draw digitally haha! I used to draw on Microsoft Paint and save my drawings onto floppy disks. Drawing gives me an outlet to express myself and the feeling of accomplishment I get when I finish a piece is an added bonus on top of that. WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD SHARE WITH OTHER ARTISTS + MAKERS? Trust the process and if you just aren’t feeling it, take a break! Working on multiple drawings (or pieces of art) at once can really help with art block. RETURN TO VENDOR PAGE
