Nothing is ever dipped in a vat of glaze. Every piece has brush strokes from my own hands. JUST JUSTIN ART

JUST JUSTIN ART original artwork @justjustinart @justjustinart Meet The artist WHO ARE YOU, WHERE ARE YOU FROM, & WHAT DO YOU DO? Hi, I’m Justin Buoni, the artist behind Just Justin Art. I’m based in Augusta, and specialize in pen and ink illustrations and watercolor artwork, with a focus on local architecture, landscapes. My work blends bold lines, vintage-modern style, and storytelling to create art that connects people to the places they love. DESCRIBE YOUR PROCESS. Each piece starts with a deep appreciation for place—I usually begin by exploring local landmarks or hidden gems that spark a story. I take reference photos, do rough sketches, and then move into detailed pen and ink work to define the composition. From there, I add layers of watercolor to bring mood and atmosphere to life. I often film parts of the process for social media to give people a peek behind the scenes, showing how a blank page transforms into a finished piece that captures the spirit of the location. WHAT INSPIRES YOU? ’m inspired by architecture and the stories built into it—historic structures, weathered details, and the craftsmanship that often gets overlooked. I’m drawn to buildings and spaces that carry a sense of time, whether it’s a preserved landmark or a fading facade with layers of history. My goal is to highlight that beauty through illustration, capturing the soul of a place in a way that connects people to their past and their environment. FUN FACT ABOUT YOU. My grandfather took up drawing as a hobby after he retired. He wasn’t a professional artist—though his brother was—but he had a real gift for capturing places and people, something that stuck with me. I guess you could say I’ve picked up where he left off, carrying that same love forward… just with a bit more coffee and a lot more TikToks. FAVORITE THING ABOUT DOWNTOWN AUGUSTA. t’s hard to pick just one thing—I’ve got that love-hate relationship with it. Growing up here, downtown has shaped so much of who I am. No matter how far I try to drift, it always finds a way to pull me back in. There’s something magnetic about its mix of history, grit, and charm—it’s never perfect, but it’s home. WHY DO YOU LOVE TO DESIGN, CREATE + MAKE? I create because it’s how I make sense of the world. Drawing and painting let me slow things down, notice the details, and tell stories that might otherwise go unnoticed. There’s something powerful about taking a blank page and turning it into something meaningful, especially when it connects with someone else. It’s part therapy, part storytelling, and part honoring the places and moments that shape us. WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD SHARE WITH OTHER ARTISTS + MAKERS? Don’t wait for perfect—just start. Make the work, even if it’s messy, even if no one sees it at first. Your style, your audience, your voice—they all grow from showing up consistently. Also: drink water, take breaks, and remember that comparison will rob you faster than any art thief ever could. Stay true to what you love to make—that’s where the magic happens. And yeah… more coffee helps too. RETURN TO VENDOR PAGE
